Below is the tentative itinerary. We will stay overnight in Guadalajara and then the next day travel to Las Joyas in the Sierra de Manatlan (cloud forest, pine-oak woodlands), where we will stay 5 days. We will descend to Autlan at the base of the sierra and spend two nights there and then depart for Chamela field station (seasonally dry forest near the ocean coast) where we will stay another approximately 5 days. En route we will visit mangroves and at Chamela we will explore various sites include an island with nest seabirds.
